Hello, Friends

Well, well, well.

What do we have to say for ourselves?

It has been well over a month since I’ve posted anything, and it is disheartening.

Let me explain what’s been going on this past month, and how all of it has led up to this.

Last I left you, Joseph and I were on our way to Florida for vacation. Actually, we were on our way to a conference in Chicago, then on our way to Florida. The day before we left however my mom had a freak accident and broke her ankle requiring surgery. Unsure of how severe, or the timeline, she gave us the go ahead and we left with her blessing.

Fast forward to the middle of our vacation, things moved very quickly for her. Because of our location we didn’t have much cellphone reception, thus us not getting updates or information until days after. Long story short my mom had a 7 hour surgery during our vacation. We left not soon after for the long trip home to help with her recovery. I stayed with her for a week, while Joseph had to head home for work.

My mother is looking at a 6 month recovery time, all while not being able to use her foot, which subsequently is her right foot making it impossible for her to drive herself anywhere. The hardest part is being a 2 hour drive away from her and balancing between being home and preparing to move, and heading to her as often as I can to help.

I’ll save you from the more in depth story, and simply just ask for prayer, as all around this situation is not easy on anyone. I haven’t had a desire to blog much and really I’m just focusing on keeping my head above water.

Even through all of that, the lack of posts, I’ve still somehow had people coming to my blog and reading it! Now if only I can get those people to subscribe…

:: In other news, here’s an update on what else has been going ::

  • Joseph is playing softball on our Church’s league
  • We have a defense date!
  • We have a realtor, thus our move is fast approaching, causing me to want to clear out all the junk and start packing (but not actually doing it, because we have no where to put it all)
  • Our 2 year wedding anniversary is coming up
  • Vegas soon!
  • I’ve been wanting to bake more, but have no one to eat said baked goods, besides Joseph who gets angry when there are 40+ cupcakes or a 4 layer cake just for the two of us

Thank you for the continued prayer and support!  Stay caught up with all the fun things coming in the future (like house hunting, moving, decorating of the new house/tour, more baking, crafting etc.) and subscribe so you don’t miss a moment.

  1. We will keep all of you in our prayers for swift, easy recovery for mom and a relatively, if not completely, smooth move for you and Joseph. Good luck!!

  2. Try baking bread. Joseph never gets angry when there is too much bread around. In fact there is no such thing as too much bread when Joseph is around.
